Do you need a crown? Now you can get one without having to experience the messy impressions, wear a temporary crown for weeks, and lose time from work for multiple office visits. With the CEREC method, Dr. Mary Katherine Taylor, DDS, ADA, NCDS, AIAOMT can make your crown in a single office visit, and you can watch it being made!

CEREC is a state-of-the-art reconstruction technique that is perfect for busy patients who like their treatment completed in the minimum amount of time but who want the highest quality of work. Crowns, onlays, and inlays made through the CEREC process are beautiful, all porcelain, durable, and long lasting. They are done quickly and easily in the office and do not require you to go weeks waiting for your permanent restorations!

CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, is a technologically advanced way for general dentists to create their own restorations for patients at their practice. It uses CAD/CAM technology to get a digital impression of a patient’s tooth to make an accurate, precision crown, onlay, inlay, or other restoration that can be placed immediately. It saves time and money for the patient and eliminates the middleman: the laboratories. Not every dental center can make same-day restorations, but Virtue Dental Care does. Dr. Mary Katherine Taylor, DDS, ADA, NCDS, AIAOMT can match the shape and size of the restoration needed for the patient, and can accurately create restorations that match the color of the existing teeth. This allows the new restoration to blend in seamlessly with the patient’s smile, looking natural and beautiful while effectively addressing the dental concern quickly and easily.

If you are interested in learning how you can benefit from same-day cosmetic dental restorations, call Virtue Dental Care and schedule an initial consultation appointment. Dr. Mary Katherine Taylor, DDS, ADA, NCDS, AIAOMT and the staff will be happy to explain the ways that CEREC can make your cosmetic and general dentistry faster and more efficient than ever before!

INLAYS AND ONLAYS

Dr. William E. Virtue DDS, NMD, at Virtue Dental Care cerec crowns and onlays

At Virtue Dental Care, we believe in providing metal-free dental care and focusing on biological dentistry. We take into consideration a patient’s overall health and well-being, and don’t just focus on the oral health and hygiene. This requires us to have alternative ways to address fillings. Often, we use inlays and onlays.

Inlays and onlays are porcelain and custom made for the patient’s tooth. They look completely natural, beautiful, and help improve the integrity and structure of the patient’s natural tooth. Others will not know that patients have fillings or have had tooth decay in the past, as inlays and onlays blend in and are cosmetically appealing.

Inlays and onlays are used most when teeth near the back of the mouth have decay within natural indentation. Dr. Mary Katherine Taylor, DDS, ADA, NCDS, AIAOMT will take a picture of the patient’s tooth, and use their in-office CEREC machine to mill an inlay or onlay during the patient’s same appointment. Many dental offices must send out their molds to have an outside laboratory create a restoration, which can take weeks. Virtue Dental Care offers same-day restorations, which is a huge benefit for busy, active patients who don’t have the time to schedule numerous dental appointments.

Inlays and onlays are strong, beautiful, and effective in improving a patient’s tooth and his or her overall smile.

At Virtue Dental Care, we consider both your oral and overall health when determining the best dental restorations for you. Call our practice today to schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Mary Katherine Taylor and learn more about how we can use inlays, onlays, veneers, or other porcelain restorations to improve smiles, self-esteem, and confidence of our patients
