Your safety is our concern
The FDA has advised ‘vulnerable’ groups - pregnant and lactating women; women trying to conceive; fetuses, infants and younger kids; those with neurological or kidney issues; and those allergic to mercury – to avoid dental amalgam. We take this advice very seriously. That’s why we consider mercury-free smiles as a priority!

Replace teeth in North Carolina with comfortable modern dentures

Today’s denture wearers benefit from advanced materials and the latest technology. Modern replacement teeth have greater stability, durability, and a more lifelike appearance than “false teeth” of previous eras.

Dentures in North Carolina Area

Upon consulting with Dr. Virtue, you may determine that a hybrid type of denture best fits your budget, lifestyle, and expectations. Dental implants rooted in the jaw hold the denture in place. As a holistic practice, Virtue Dental Care integrates the latest, proven technologies and techniques so you can enjoy your new teeth for years to come.

What to expect

You’ve already started the process by visiting Virtue Dental Care online. Our dental team is glad you are here. The next step is to call to schedule a consultation with Dr. Virtue. Virtue Dental Care Patients call (336) 679-2034 and New Patients call (336) 606-0040. He will examine your mouth and determine the type of denture best suited to your needs, preferences, and goals. After assessing the state of your mouth, the dentist may even suggest denture alternatives, such as a natural-looking bridge or dental implants restored with porcelain crowns, if you need to replace only a few teeth.

Should dentures be best for you, measurements are taken and an impression of your mouth is made. Technicians use this information to create your teeth and gums. If extractions are necessary, it may take a few months for the sites to heal. Proper healing helps dentures fit comfortably and securely.

An initial fitting is somewhat like giving your new teeth a test drive. Follow-up visits allow you to discuss concerns, and give the doctor a chance to recheck fit and make adjustments if needed.

Should implant-supported dentures be in your future, the biggest departure from some of the steps listed above is the actual placement of the dental implant. After the implants are placed, they eventually fuse to surrounding, supportive bone. The implants become artificial tooth roots, providing stability for the denture.

Living with dentures

Dentures may feel strange at first. You are just getting used to them! With time and adjustments, they will feel quite natural. Dr. Virtue monitor your oral health to check for sore areas, and addresses persistent issues with customized treatment.

It is important for denture wearers to brush gums and often overlooked areas such as the tongue and roof of the mouth. The tongue in particular is known to harbor destructive bacteria. For those with partial dentures, it is critical to keep remaining natural teeth clean.

The hygiene team at Virtue Dental Care will provide instruction on how to keep your dentures looking and functioning their best with rinsing, soaking, and specialized products.

Virtue Dental Care in Yadkinville, North Carolina can discuss more about what to expect with dentures, as well as pros and cons of various tooth replacement options. Schedule an appointment today.
