Your safety is our concern
The FDA has advised ‘vulnerable’ groups - pregnant and lactating women; women trying to conceive; fetuses, infants and younger kids; those with neurological or kidney issues; and those allergic to mercury – to avoid dental amalgam. We take this advice very seriously. That’s why we consider mercury-free smiles as a priority!

About Dental Implants

Dental implants are the gold standard for tooth replacement. In fact, they are a permanent solution, which has made them the preferred option among many of our patients. Once in place, dental implants will look and feel like natural teeth.

Some of the major benefits of dental implants include:

  • A restored, attractive smile
  • Easier to chew and speak
  • More comfortable than dentures
  • Less additional work than dentures
  • Stronger and more durable than dentures or bridges

The Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implants are tiny posts that are surgically placed into the jaw, replacing the missing root. A small connector post called an abutment is attached to the implant to serve as an anchor for the final restoration.

The entire process for placing dental implants typically takes about six months. During the first procedure, the implant or implants are placed into the bone and are then left to heal. This process, known as osseointegration, allows the implant to gradually bond with the jawbone beneath the surface of the gum tissue. Your new replacement teeth will be custom fabricated with high quality, natural-looking materials.

Once this healing process is complete, patients will return for a second procedure. This time, the implant will be partially exposed to allow enough room for the abutment to be attached. Then, depending on the amount of teeth missing, a crown, bridge, or dentures will be attached.

All-On-Four Dental Implants

Patients missing an entire arch of teeth may benefit from the All-On-Four dental implants. When patients are missing most of their teeth, finding a solution that is comfortable, natural feeling and cost-effective can be difficult. Implants for each individual tooth would get very costly and removable dentures are not nearly as stable as implants.

All-On-Four implants are a great option for patients because it does not involve replacing an entire arch of individual implants. Because only four implants are being placed, all-on-four implants produces less post-surgical discomfort or swelling than an entire arch of individual implants. Additionally, this treatment is usually much less expensive than other dental restoration options.

During this procedure, four implants are strategically placed into the upper and lower jawbone so that an entire arch of teeth can be anchored into place.

Why choose dental implants?

While every patient must decide for himself or herself what type of tooth replacement is best, we see that more often than not, they choose dental implants. This is because they are the only tooth replacement option that can give you complete stability and the peace of mind to know that you can eat, talk, and smile with confidence. Dental implants offer patients a lifetime free from the frustration and embarrassment caused by permanent tooth loss.

In addition to being stable, and permanent, dental implants do not require any alterations to healthy tooth structure, unlike dental bridges, which require removing a portion of the enamel to make room for dental crowns. And while removable dentures have come a long way, they can still be uncomfortable and prone to slipping.

Candidates for dental implants

Before receiving implants, a full medical examination along with dental history will be reviewed. Candidates for dental implants should be in good oral health and have sufficient jawbone structure. In some cases, bone grafting or tissue grafting may be recommended prior to receiving dental implants to improve the outcome of the procedure.

Caring for dental implants

With routine oral hygiene and dental care, dental implants can last a lifetime. They do not require any specialized care other than regular brushing and flossing along with routine examinations from the dentist.
