Rating: 5 Dermatologist Walnut Creek - Five Star Reviews By James W.
Dr. William E. Virtue DDS, FIAOMT, NMD
I have been going to Dr. Virtue's dental office for many years after going to many other dentists in the area with no sucess. This practice is the TOTAL EXPERIENCE! From the time in walk in until you walk out you feel that not only are you in the best hands but that you are among experienced, caring friends. Not only do they care about their patients but about each other and it is apparent from the first visit. If you are looking for a dentist I strongly recommend Virtue Dental Care in Yadkinville. It is worth trying. Bet you can't just go one time!

Healthier restorations from a mercury free dental provider in Southwest Carolina
At Virtue Dental, we have committed ourselves to putting the health and wellness of our patients as our number one priority. To do this, we feel it's important to approach oral health with the knowledge that there is a systemic connection to overall health. In order to fulfill this goal, we place a great deal of thought into the materials we use for all of our procedures. We are a mercury-free practice that only utilizes safe, biocompatible materials to restore function and beauty to patients' smiles.

Whether you have one or know someone who has one, chances are you are familiar with amalgam (silver fillings). Many adults and even some children have at least one amalgam filling in their mouth. Amalgam is composed of a mix of metals and can contain up to 50 percent mercury. While amalgam was once a highly desired dental material due to strength and stability, we now know about the toxicity and dangers associated with mercury exposure.

We offer two mercury-free options for patients who are facing restorative work: composite resin fillings and porcelain inlays, onlays and crowns.

Composite Resin Fillings
Composite resin fillings offer a number of advantages when compared to amalgam fillings. Unlike amalgam, composite resin does not fluctuate in size based on temperature. When amalgam does this, it can fracture the tooth. Composite resin is actually bonded in place with the tooth to make it strong and durable. In addition, composite resin is tooth colored which makes it a discreet option when compared to the way silver fillings look inside the teeth.

Porcelain inlays, onlays and crowns
For larger cavities or restorations, we can use restorations fabricated from porcelain. Porcelain is a material the closely mimics tooth enamel and is strong enough to withstand the natural force and pressure of biting.

Advantages of biocompatible materials
  • Metal-free restorations are more aesthetically pleasing
  • Better fit, not sensitive to temperature changes
  • Direct bonding
At Virtue Dental, you can count on us to use safe, mercury-free materials that create strong and beautiful dental restorations. If you reside in Southwest Carolina, we invite you to call us today and learn more about the benefits of biological dental care.
